This medicine is useful to prevent and treat diseases of the skin and mucous membranes. It relieves irritation and promotes healing of minor wounds. It is also effective in the treatment of sunburn.

PROPERTIES:
Dexpanthenol, the active substance in Bepantol® is rapidly transformed in the cells into pantothenic acid. The latter is a component of coenzyme A, an essential element which, besides being an acetylating factor, occupies a key position in cellular metabolism. Pantothenic acid is indispensable for the good development of the metabolism of the epithelial tissues of the skin and mucous membranes.
INDICATION:
Healing and epithelialisation in case of minor injuries such as minor burns and abrasions, chronic ulcers, decubitus ulcers and anal fissures.
Treatment of inflammations of the mouth and pharynx.
Post-operative treatment of surgical wounds, skin grafts and cervical erosions.
Treatment of stomatitis (possibly in association with anti-infectives) Prevention and treatment of nipple rash as well as diaper rash and sunburn Adjuvant in the local treatment of wounds. Adjuvant, as an aerosol, in the treatment of upper respiratory tracts (pharyngitis, laryngitis, tracheitis, acute and chronic bronchitis).
